GCSE Results 2019

WOODBRIDGE CELEBRATES HUGE INCREASE IN HIGHEST GCSE GRADES

Students and staff at Woodbridge have been celebrating yet another year of excellent GCSE results.

We have yet again achieved our best ever GCSE results with a record 77pc of our students gaining grade 4 or better in both English and Maths, and 58pc gaining grade 5 or better in both subjects. Both these figures are significantly up on last year.

Perhaps most pleasing for us is the huge increase in students awarded the very highest grades. 30pc of all GCSEs were graded at 7 or above, up from 23pc last year.

Most significantly of all, 6.5pc of GCSEs taken by our students were awarded a grade 9. To put this in perspective, this amounts to 165 grade 9s for Woodbridge students, over 100 more than last year.  Nationally, just 4.5pc of GCSEs were awarded a grade 9 last year.

A Level Results 2019

We are once again very pleased with this year’s A Level results.

Woodbridge students have been working hard for two years to achieve their A Level grades across a wide range of subjects. We are so proud that so many of our students have achieved excellent grades that will enable them to go on to study their chosen courses at universities across the country. It has been a nerve wracking week for students and their families as they have awaited their result. Imagine our students’ excitement today as they find out what the next stage of their life will look like!

We have seen an increase this year in the percentage of our students gaining A* and B grades in their A Levels, which is particularly pleasing. 44% of all A Levels taken by our students were graded A*- B, and 73% of A Levels were graded A*-C.

The percentages are, of course, interesting, but for us at Woodbridge today is about celebrating the results of each of our individual students.

We also congratulate our students who have completed their vocational courses and will now progress on to university and employment. Our excellent sustained record of ‘value-added’ over many years confirms that we are a leading sixth form provider in the Borough.
