House Inspirational Figure
Marcus Rashford
Marcus Rashford, born on October 31, 1997, is 27 years old as of 2025. Beyond his achievements on the pitch, Rashford has become a leading voice for social justice and child welfare in the UK.
Drawing from his own experiences growing up in Manchester, he spearheaded a national campaign during the COVID-19 pandemic to combat child food poverty. His partnership with FareShare helped deliver over 21 million meals to children and families in need. Rashford successfully lobbied the UK government to extend free school meal vouchers during the holidays, impacting over a million children. He later formed the Child Food Poverty Taskforce, uniting major food brands and charities to push for systemic change.
His activism earned him an MBE, an honorary doctorate, and global recognition, including being named one of Time Magazine’s 100 most influential people. Rashford has also promoted literacy through book giveaways and poetry competitions, and has consistently used his platform to speak out against racism and inequality. His work has made him not only a football star, but a symbol of hope and leadership far beyond sport.
