Red Weather Warning
The Met Office has now issued a Red Weather Warning for Wednesday 24th June and Thursday 25th June due to extreme heat.
In light of this, our risk assessment and control measures have been revised.
We will therefore be operating a shortened school day on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday this week, with all students dismissed at 11:40am each day. This is in line with other local schools.
Events
All events, clubs, and activities on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday will be cancelled or postponed, including:
- Year 11 Sixth Form Induction Day (Tuesday) – a new date will be arranged; Year 11 students should not attend
- Year 10 Careers Day (Wednesday) – a new date will be arranged; Year 10 students should wear normal uniform and attend their usual lessons (Periods 1–3)
- Woodbridge’s Got Talent (Thursday) – a new date will be arranged
- All visits and fixtures, including the swimming gala, horse riding, and the Year 12 Geography trip
- All clubs

08:40–08:55 – Registration
09:00–09:45 – Period 1
09:50–10:35 – Period 2
10:35–10:55 – Break
10:55–11:40 – Period 3
11:40 – Students dismissed
Free School Meals
Students entitled to free school meals should use their allowance during break time. There will be no lunch service.
Vulnerable Students / Childcare
If your child needs to remain in school after 11:40am due to childcare or vulnerability reasons, please inform their Year Coordinator today, and we will make arrangements for them to stay until 15:10.
Hot Weather Advice
- Please remind your child that during the shortened days, they:
- Do not need to wear blazers
- Do not need to wear a tie
- Do not need to tuck their shirt in
- May wear school shorts
- Should bring a water bottle and keep it filled (not during lessons)
- Should bring a hat
- Should stay indoors or in shaded areas where possible
- Should wear sunscreen
We will review this position later in the week. At present, we expect to operate a normal school day on Friday.
