Year 13 students at Woodbridge High School have been collecting their A Level and Level 3 vocational and technical (VTQ) results today.

The school is celebrating its best ever results, with 30% of all A Levels taken by students graded at A* or A, and 60% graded at A*-B. In vocational subjects, 61% of students achieved a Distinction or Distinction* in their courses.

These figures represent a significant increase on the results achieved by students last year, and there was a lot to celebrate at the school in Woodford Green today.

Oliwia Rafacz was delighted with her results of A*, A* and A, including full marks in one of her Psychology papers. She said, “I’m over the moon with my results; they are the best I’ve ever had. I will be off to study Medicine. I’m so happy.”

Anna Harley will be going to the University of Cambridge to study Philosophy after achieving an A* and two As. She said, “I’m so relieved. All those late evenings in the study rooms, where teachers provided everything we needed, were worth it. I cannot thank the school and teachers enough for all the academic support throughout these wonderful years.”

Yana Klimko, who achieved an A* and two As, said, “I would like to thank the teachers at Woodbridge for their support and encouragement in helping me achieve my grades. I’m really looking forward to studying History at Warwick.”

Eyaan Wali celebrated outstanding results of three A*s and an A and is heading to the University of Warwick to study Computer Science. He said, “I did a lot better than I thought I would and am really happy. Keep going, even if it’s rough; there are always second chances.”

Mariam Adeyemo, who achieved an A* and two As, will be going on to study Medicine at Imperial College London. She said, “My subject teachers provided lots of support and were always available to give feedback, which helped me make significant improvements.”

Steven Hogan, Headteacher at Woodbridge High School, said: “I am incredibly pleased with the results that our students have achieved in this year’s A Level and VTQ exams. These results represent our best ever Sixth Form outcomes.”
